·As you enjoy the books The Library Fish by Alyssa Satin Capucilli and Katy and the Big Snow by Virginia Lee Burton with your child, they will practice making connections and reflect upon how making connections can be helpful both as readers and when we face situations in our lives.
During lesson, children will listen to the book Katy and the Big Snow by Virginia Lee Burton. They will engage in cross-curricular activities related to the book including: using a compass, making salt crystal snowflakes and measuring snow totals from the book.
This lesson includes a variety of hands-on activities to bring the classic picture book Katy and the Big Snow to life. Children will learn about cardinal directions as they imagine, create, and pretend with Katy.
